Making an "Ikea" map

From Santiago del Estero we took a day trip to Fernandez. First we met the mayor and then we got to go to a school called Amntena. This word comes from the native tongue of Mocovi and means- "I a happy to see you again."
They truly inhabit the "teach a man to fish mentality." Kids from all over the country learn essential skills to take back to their cities and pueblos. For example, some do not have electricity. After schooling they become the master electrician for their communities. Imagine literally bringing light home...
In a carpentry class we got to hear a song in Toba. Afterwards, Oakley sang for them. They graced us with a feast of emoanadas and pollo and we swapped presentations.
This school is partially funded by honey sales in Germany. The have two german architects working on sustainable projects as volunteers. You can read more about their work here: http://cc-fernandez.org/blog/
The two German architects are working with projects of sustainable building thought the area. For example, the cement the area uses now is full of salt and breaks down. The architects are designing projects with picture manuals like with Ikea that people in various pueblos can use. Many do not read and languages vary. Therefore, a map that anyone an read and use will spread more environmentally sound and secure architecture throughout the country.
