Pam's Birthday!!!!

Starting at midnight (when we usually start dessert) and into the next day there was much rejoicing over Pam- we counted 6 different cakes. Fabulousa!!!
In Santiago de Estrello we got to go to two Universities. In the morning we went to their public and in the afternoon a private Catholic school.  For the public, I found their intentionality with online learning interesting. For example, they send their teachers out to different regions to help "get their student's feet wet with classes." This way the students know their teachers before they start their online learning. Also they have a video chat graduation.
At the Catholic school they have a press that keeps books in print. For example, they print books in Quichua (sometimes spelled Quechua) an Incan language that is in danger of disappearing. It was forbidden to speak the languag as per a Spanish law until 1983.
We also had a special sit down with the Mayor.
I liked how the can driver had a baby shoe "zapacito" hanging from his rear view mirror.  He kept his cell phone in it!
