This morning we sadly had to say goodbye to the great people of Esperanza. As others have posted, we had a great two days in Esperanza and Humbolt. Today we arrived in Santa Fe to more opened arms. There is no way to deny that we have met some great people along the way! Upon our arrival we checked into a hotel - Bekah and I in one and the guys in another. After checking in, we took a tour of Santa Fe. In addition to seeing three Catholic churches - including Santuario Nuestra Senora de los Milagros in which a miracle occurred in 1573. The painting in the picture below of Our Lady (picture #3) began "sweating" one morning and lasted for over an hour. The priest believed there was condensation, but upon further investigation, it in fact was coming from the picture and would change direction in flow based on hand movement. Next, we visited several museums that gave us lots of information about the city of Santa Fe and how it began in the Colonial Times. We had some GREAT fish - Pacu, Boga, Pescado surubi, and Mimosa (not to be confused with the American drink!). The location of the restaurant for lunch was along the water, so there was a great breeze and it made for some good picture taking of the surrounding area. After lunch, we went to tour the port in Santa Fe. The water for the port comes for the Parana River, which has the best water in the area. Due to the sweet water, there is a beer distillery in Santa Fe - but I will let Stuart tell you about that as he was in his glory during that tour!! Time to catch a siesta before our second presentation!
So great to hear, Jean! I wish them the best on their trip!!
