Day 1 - Hope

What a perfect first day in Esperanza.

Esperanza means hope in Spanish. I hope every visit is this good.

The people are incredible. So welcoming and inviting. And this city is incredible.

This area is rich in agriculture and almost reminds you of the Mississippi Delta. Flat land and tons of crops. Dairy, corn, soy bean mainly.

This area was founded by the French and German immigrants in 1850s. The French built a catholic cathedral and the German a Lutheran church. They still stand across the plaza today from each other. See below.
